Welcome everyone,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our Chapter and our website. Let
me start by congratulating you on your achievement of being offered a Golden
Key International Honour Society membership, and joining honorary members such
as Professor Sally Walker (Vice-Chancellor), Professor John Rosenberg (Deputy
Vice-Chancellor (Academic)), Professor Allan Johnston (Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor
(Academic)) and Professor Philip Clarke (Dean of the Faculty of Business and
Law).
An important question is what do you want from your $93.50? If it's a certificate and a line on your resume- you've already got it. If it's the opportunity to attend academic workshops and information sessions, as well as participate in social and community events, you can have that too. This website will be constantly updated with upcoming events. These events are a whole lot of fun - you get to meet and socialise with a great bunch of people who you know are high achievers like yourself, in addition to developing academic skills and helping the community.
If you would like to take on a bigger role in the Chapter, you can attend our committee meetings and perhaps take up a position of office. You don't need to be a good public speaker or excel in group planning situations to join the committee; you can develop these 'real world' skills as you go along. Being on the committee is highly regarded by employers, as it tells them that you are not only academically gifted but are also an experienced team player and can handle responsibility. Joining the committee also gives you the opportunity to attend regional and international Golden Key conferences, with guest speakers, cultural events, and opportunities for social and business networking
