Content

This unit will provide you with an in-depth understanding of sport governance. As aspiring sport business professionals, governance is a particularly important topic for study and understand. The sport industry is characterised by rapid levels of growth, systemic issues corruption and highly passionate stakeholders. In this context, governance is the key mechanism through which these challenges are overcome and harnessed. To properly understand the sport industry, one must first examine its underpinning governance systems and processes.

 

This unit will take you through each aspect of the sport governance process, from the role of the board of directors to the integrity systems designed to mitigate corruption. Deakin University is a world-leading centre for sport governance scholarship and thought leadership. As student of this unit, you will be exposed to the latest insights and research on sport governance.
