Outreach Program

This is a Deakin Studies Online (DSO) program for undergraduate, postgraduate and Higher Degree by Research students across all Campuses in the Faculty.

This program enables students to communicate directly with staff by using discussion boards in the areas of:

• Ask Health – Student and Academic Services (HSAS) – general questions about study at Deakin
• Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
• Faculty student lounge – where students can advertise for tutorial swaps, placement swaps, supporting each other in any way
• Marketplace – students can advertise to sell textbooks and equipment
• Notice Board – for announcements

Life Buoy

Life Buoy is a DSO link providing current students with lists of services available to them as students of the Faculty. Information includes:

• DSO help
• How to study and research effectively
• Life, health, fitness and community information
• Financial assistance
• IT essentials
• How to improve your employability
• Studying from a distance
• Studying in a different culture
• How to check your knowledge
• How prepared are you for study?
