Advice on writing your thesis

Your thesis is likely to be the largest document you ever write and it is a major challenge for all students. Deakin provides a considerable amount of support and advice to help you with the writing up of your thesis. There is also a wealth of information available from the internet and other avenues of support.

The Library and Division of Student Life run a number of writing related workshops.

Thesis study groups

You can join a thesis study group on your campus. Sessions are held regularly and are facilitated by Language and Learning Advisers in the Division of Student Life. Alternatively, you can attend an online thesis study group.

A Thesis Study Group timetable can be viewed on the HDR support page.

Other avenues of support

It has contributors from around the world and covers various subjects ranging from getting things done, how to write faster, and presenting, to your career, useful resources for students and supervisors and many other interesting, helpful and insightful topics.
