Online Induction

All new Deakin international students will be required to complete the compulsory online induction by the end of week 9 of their first trimester. You don't need to enrol into online induction. Online induction is accessible through CloudDeakin. Just log onto CloudDeakin and look for "International Induction" in the navigation bar. Click on the link and you can get started.

Please read the instructions for the induction.

This online induction program is different to the face-to-face orientation that you will attend on campus. we strongly recommend that you make every effort to attend the face-to-face induction as this is where you will get the chance to meet new friends and be introduced to vital university services. You will also have the chance to ask questions and learn important information about study and life in Australia, as well as cultural practices here.

The compulsory online induction program is designed to ensure that you understand your rights and responsibilities as an international student. There are 6 modules with a total of 8 quizzes you need to complete. Information about the online induction and instructions on how to complete it will be emailed to your student email account in week 3 of your first trimester.

You must read the content within the resources section before you can attempt the quiz. If you don't compete the content, you will not be able to access the quiz. You must pass all 8 quizzes and you can repeat it as many times as you like.

The modules are as follows:

  • Module 1 - International induction
  • Module 2 - Your visa conditions
  • Module 3 - Online (cloud) study and the 25% rule
  • Module 4 -  Compliance Officers
  • Module 5 - Complaints and appeal
  • Module 6 - Legal matters

Important: All commencing international students are required to complete the online induction by week 9 of their first trimester. Failure to complete the induction may result in your enrolment being encumbered and you won't be able to receive your results.
