Bike Cages at Deakin University
Bike Cages are secure bicycle facilities where you can store your bike during the day while at Uni. They are fully secured with access granted only via swipe card, plus there are CCTV security cameras on site 24/7.
There are currently two bike cages, one at the Melbourne Burwood Campus and one at the Geelong Waterfront Campus. These bike cages were developed as part of the Sustainable Transport Strategy at Deakin University.
The development of a Bike Cage at the Geelong Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool Campuses are planned for 2012.
The Melbourne Burwood Campus Bike Cage
Located on the east side of building HB, the facility can house 65 bikes at any one time and will save 44 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
The Geelong Waterfront Bike Cage
Located in level 1 of the underground car park (D1.001). The facility can house 36 bikes at any one time and will save around 23 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
