Each of the four campuses at Deakin are serviced by buses. Find services and timetables for each campus below:

The Melbourne Burwood Campus

732: Box Hill Station - Deakin University (Station Street) – Ferntree Gully

Route 732 departs from Box Hill Bus Station and takes between 8-10 minutes to travel to the corner of Station St/Burwood Hwy, from there take a short walk (430m) to the Melbourne Burwood Campus.

Approximate time: approximately 20 minutes.

767: Box Hill Station - Deakin University (Burwood Hwy) – Jordanville Station - Southland

Route 767 departs from Box Hill Bus Station and stops in front of Deakin University on Burwood Hwy. If you’re coming from Jordanville Railway Station, just walk 210 metres from the station to the corner of Salisbury Rd/Huntingdale Rd and take the 767 bus to Deakin University.

Approximate time: 20 minutes from Box Hill Station and 10 minutes from Jordanville Station.

281: Templestowe Village - Doncaster Shopping Town - Box Hill Station - Deakin University (Central Precint - building hf)

Route 281 turns into Holland Ave and stops under the Central Precinct Atrium (building hf). From here the bus travels down Elgar Road, stopping at Wattle Park and Box Hill Bus Station. The bus then continues to the Doncaster Shopping Centre with Templestowe Village being the final destination.

Approximate time: 20 minutes from Box Hill Station and 45 minutes from Templestowe Village.

768: Box Hill Station - Deakin University (Central Precinct, building hf)

Route 768 departs from Box Hill Bus Station to Deakin University, along Station Street, Canterbury Road, Elgar Road, Burwood Highway, Holland Ave to the Central Precinct Atrium (building hf). This bus route operates on weekdays between 7am and 6.30pm during T1 and T2 only.

Approximate time: 20 minutes.

Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus

There are five bus services that run from the Geelong CBD direct to Deakin University’s Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus.

Route 14 Geelong City – Waurn Ponds – Deakin University

Route 14 departs from the City terminus in Little Malop St and runs via Little Malop St, Yarra St, Ryrie St, Moorabool St, High St, Princes Hwy, Henry St, Reynolds Rd, Princes Hwy and Pioneer Rd to Waurn Ponds shopping centre. It then runs via Pioneer Rd, Burdoo Dr, Gloucester St, Moruya Dr, Heyers Dr, Rossack Dr, Monterey Dr, Ghazeepore Rd, Hams Rd, Grange Park Drive, Brentwood Way, Ghazeepore Rd, Prices Hwy, Pigdons Rd and Alfred Deakin Drive to the Deakin University terminus.

Approximate time: 50 minutes.

Route 16 Geelong City – Highton – Deakin University 

Route 16 departs from the City terminus in Little Malop St and runs via Little Malop St, Yarra St, Ryrie St, Moorabool St, High St, Mt Pleasant Rd, Morris St, Roslyn Rd, Scenic Rd, Mt Pleasant Rd, North Valley Rd, South Valley Rd, Bonsey Rd, Thornhill Rd, Augustines Rd, Pigdons Rd and Alfred Deakin Drive to the Deakin University terminus.

Approximate time: 40 minutes.

Route 18 Geelong Railway Station direct to Deakin University

Route 18 departs the Geelong Railway Station and runs via Railway Terrace, Mercer Street, Brougham Street, Bellerine Street, Little Malop Street, Yarra Street, Myers Street, Moorabool Street, High Street, Princes Highway, Pigdons Road and Alfred Deakin Drive to the terminus at Deakin University. Please note that this limited stop service operates Monday to Friday during University Trimester's only.

Route 19 Geelong Railway Station – Marshall – Deakin University

Route 19 departs from the terminus at Geelong Station and runs via Fenwick St, Ryrie St, Yarra St, Myers St, Moorabool St, High St, Corio St, Torquay Rd, Surfcoast Hwy and Marshalltown Rd to Marshall Station; then via Marshalltown Rd, Bailey St, Reserve Rd, Burleigh Dr, Hansen Dr, Perrett St, Surfcoast Hwy, Heyers Rd, Rossack Dr, Meadowvale Dr, Pioneer Rd, Princes Hwy, Pigdons Rd and Deakin Ave to the terminus at Deakin University.

Approximate time: 40 minutes.

Route 20 Geelong Railway Station – Grovedale – Deakin University

Route 20 departs from the terminus at Geelong Station and runs via Fernwick Street, Ryrie Street, Yarra Street, Myers Street, Moorabool Street, High Street, Corio Street, Torquay Road, Surf Coast Highway and Marshalltown Road to Marshall Station; then via Marshalltown Road, Surf Coast Highway, Pioneer Road, Princes Highway, Pigdons Road and Alfred Deakin Drive to the terminus at Deakin University.

Approximate time: 30 minutes.

There are also 2 bus routes that terminate at the Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre. From here you can connect with either Route 14, 19 or 20 bus services (5mins in additional travel). Alternatively, if you feel like a walk, it will take approximately 25 minutes to get to the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus.

 

Route 15 Geelong City – Belmont – Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre

Route 15 departs from the City terminus in Little Malop St, bus runs via Little Malop St, Yarra St, Ryrie St, Moorabool St, High St, Corio St, Torquay Rd, Settlement Rd, Princes Hwy, Reynolds Rd, Fryers Rd, South Valley Rd, Glastonbury Dr, South Valley Rd and Pioneer Rd to the terminus at Waurn Ponds shopping centre.

Approximate time: 40 minutes.

Route 17 Geelong City – Belmont East – Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre

Route 17 departs the City terminus in Little Malop St, bus runs via Little Malop St, Yarra St, Ryrie St,Moorabool St, High St, Corio St, Evans St, Roslyn Rd, Francis St, Spring St, Torquay Rd (Surf Coast Hwy), Church St and Pioneer Rd to the terminus at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre.

Approximate time: 27 minutes.

Route C269 Geelong to Colac

The weekday service connects with the 4:19pm train from Southern Cross Station. It departs from Geelong Station at 5.30pm and travels to the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus. The bus then travels through Winchelsea and Birregurra to arrive in Colac at 7.00pm. The service provides students and staff commuting from Melbourne or Geelong with an earlier return than the 7.38pm train.

Geelong Waterfront Campus

The majority of buses in the Geelong bus network terminate at either the Geelong Railway Station or Geelong CBD. From here it’s about a 5 minute walk to Campus. There are 20 bus services that operate in the City of Geelong. Please visit PTV to obtain the relevant bus route for your area.

 

Warrnambool Campus

Route 9 Warrnambool - Deakin - Allansford

From the bus stand in Koroit Street (North Side), Banyan Street, Raglan Parade, Gateway Plaza, Raglan Parade, Deakin University, (Extensions to Allansford then to Raglan Parade, Ziegler Parade to Cheeseworld, Ziegler Parade, Raglan Parade, then return to Deakin University), Raglan Parade, Banyan Street, Koroit Street to City Stand.
