Learn all about Deakin and what DUELI can offer you throughout your orientation experience. It's your chance to get all the details on your course and find out what to expect from studying with DUELI.

Discover everything you need for a solid start to your DUELI course.

The steps below give an overview of the orientation process that you will go through after you receive and accept your offer to study with us.

1. Getting started

We will send you your first email about a week before Orientation Day.

The first email will contain information about:

Activating your ITSet up your Deakin username and password. Once this is done you will have access to Deakin’s online resources.
Adding your contact detailsEnter your contact details on Student Connect so we can contact you.
The class guidelines formRead and confirm that you understand what is expected of you in a DUELI classroom.
Activating your Deakin Zoom accountWe use Zoom for our classes. You will need to activate your Deakin Zoom account.
Registering for the online OrientationWe will send you an Orientation session registration link.
Preparing your study spaceGet your home classroom sorted by organising comfortable earphones, a microphone and a place where you can study without distraction.
Read the DUELI handbookThe handbooks can answer some of your questions about study at DUELI.
Online campus tourTake a virtual tour of Deakin and learn about us.

2. Orientation session reminder

Making sure that you have what you need to engage in DUELI classes.

The second email will include details regarding:

Orientation time!We will send you a reminder about the Orientation session.
Checking that you have the right tools to be successful at DUELI.
Do a double-check of your device, earphones etc.

3. Getting ready for classes

Last steps to get prepared for your new DUELI class.

The final email will tell you more about:

Getting a student cardYour Deakin ID card is not only your ID, library, and access card, but by loading money to your card, you can print and pay for all your on-campus purchases. (ID card production may be delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions.)
The DUELI blogThis is where you can find the information you need – the timetable, the class list, upcoming events.
What's next?Your new teacher will invite you to your first class soon – time to study!
