Career opportunities

As a sustainability and environmental management graduate you'll understand of the functioning and management of complex interactions between the biological, physical, social economic and political worlds.

Depending on your chosen area of expertise, you may choose to seek employment in areas such as:

  • coastal and marine management
  • ecology
  • environmental consultancy
  • environmental communications
  • environmental health
  • environmental sustainability
  • land and water management
  • policy development
  • research or science journalism
  • statutory and socio-economic planning
  • wildlife management.

Undergraduate

Undergraduate (your first degree)

An undergraduate degree is generally completed between two to four years, depending on the pattern of study and any credit for prior learning you may have. Associate degrees, bachelor’s and bachelor’s with honours are all undergraduate degrees.

Postgraduate

Postgraduate (further study)

A postgraduate qualification can be undertaken by students who have already completed an undergraduate degree or possess significant, demonstrable work experience. Postgraduate courses include graduate certificates, graduate diplomas, master’s and PhDs, as well as specialist programs for industry professionals.

This course exposed me to skilled and experienced lecturers who have been there and done it. It enabled me to gain the job I was after too.
