How ISAs can help

International Student Advisers (ISAs) are your first point of contact when you arrive at Deakin University. ISAs coordinate the Registration, Enrolment and Orientation Programs for international students, Final Trimester Program, ISS-Connect volunteer program and the University Airport Reception Service for new international students. ISAs are also available for appointments to assist you with a variety of matters.

ISAs can help you with the following:

  • enrolment-related matters
  • fees- or finance-related matters
  • social or adjustment difficulties
  • visa-related issues
  • academic difficulties
  • special consideration inquiries
  • personal issues
  • grievances and crisis management
  • homesickness/feelings of isolation
  • referrals to other support services

You can contact an ISA for an appointment if you wish to receive help on any of these issues.

Grievances

If you have a grievance or a dispute, talk to an International Student Adviser first. ISAs can offer you advice and guide you through the process of lodging a complaint. For more information, please refer to Deakin's Student Complaint Policy.
