Q: How can I adapt to the Australian culture?
A: In general, Australians are friendly, welcoming people. However, every culture has its unique differences and you will need to get used to how things are done in Australia.
All commencing international students will learn about Australian culture at the International Student Orientation Program. It is very important that you attend this session if you want to make the most out of your time in Australia.
If you have any concerns or specific questions you would like to ask about Australian culture, please speak to an International Student Adviser (ISA) on you campus.

Q: How do I communicate with my teachers?
A: Communication in Australia is usually much less formal than in many other countries. In general, you call teachers by their name, not “sir” or “ma’am”. You should feel confident to approach your teachers and talk to them about any questions you may have.
