Students' gateway to Campus

Friendship Family Scheme

The Warrnambool Campus is home to one of Deakin's most successful programs for international students - the Friendship Family Scheme. It gives international students a chance to learn about Australian culture by establishing regular contact with an Australian family. This may be as simple as having dinner or shopping with the family, and is a fantastic opportunity to make friends, be part of a family and learn about the Australian way of life. In addition, you will be helping Australian families learn more about a different culture.

Warrnambool Community Engagement Scheme

The Warrnambool Community Engagement Scheme gives international students a chance to learn about Australian culture by establishing contacts within the Warrnambool community. This may be as simple as joining a local church or sporting or recreation group, volunteering for service with a landcare group or children’s centre or meeting a local family for occasional dinners or outings. It is a fantastic opportunity to make friends, be part of the community and learn about the Australian way of life. In addition, you will be helping local people learn more about your own culture.
