How to pay your tuition fees

Telephone payment
You can make credit card payments over the phone by contacting Deakin Finance and Business Services.

  • Tel: (61 3) 5227 1145 or (61 3) 5227 1146.
  • The payment will be processed immediately and you will be supplied with a receipt number.
  • The receipt number will be registered on the Deakin system generally within 24 hours after the payment has been made.

Online payment
You can also pay online with your credit card through StudentConnect.

  • Go to StudentConnect and click on the "Make a payment" tab on the left.
  • Log in with your username and password and follow the prompts.
  • Print out the reference details at the end of the transaction.
  • Please allow five working days for the payment to be processed before checking on StudentConnect for confirmation of receipt of payment.

Electronic funds transfer

From overseas, the best and safest way to pay is by electronic funds transfer. Please note that there may be extra bank charges associated with electronic funds transfers and students opting to pay by this method should factor in those charges accordingly.

It is essential that you provide the following information to the bank when paying by electronic funds transfer:

  • Student name (not the person or family member overseas making the payment)
  • Student ID number
  • Course name
  • Details of payment (e.g. Tuition fees for Trimester 1)

Once the transaction has been made, please notify Deakin University by faxing a copy of the transaction details to Deakin Finance and Business Services (fax: 5227 2682). You must include the following details:

  • Bank name
  • Branch name
  • Branch number
  • Student name
  • Student ID number.

Cheque/Bankdraft

Students who opt to pay by cheque or bankdraft may do so by sending it to:

Cheques/bank drafts should be made out in Australian dollars (conversion may take up to six weeks if not in Australian dollars) and made payable to Deakin University. Students should also include on a separate note the following details:

  • Student name
  • Student ID Number
  • Course name
  • Details of payment (e.g. Tuition fees for Trimester 1 or 2).

Students are strongly advised to make photocopies of all cheques/bank drafts for their own records in case of the need to show evidence of payment later.
