We are currently looking for committed Postgraduate Students who would like to assist new students settle into their studies and help create a better B&L Postgraduate community. All training will be provided and mentors will be supported throughout the program, commencing Semester Two, 15 July - 24 October 2008.
This will give you the opportunity to share your study experiences and advance your leadership and team work skills. A Certificate of Recognition will be issued from the Faculty! Application forms also available at the PG Reception centre. Sign up today!

Are you interested in helping new international students settle into life at Deakin? Are you an aspiring leader and caring person? If so, then the First Links Program is for you!
FLP leaders are volunteer students who offer assistance to newly arrived students in small groups. They provide assistance to students in opening a bank account, shopping, using public transport, making appointments with Housing Officers and generally answering questions from students about Uni life - vital tasks for our new students! They need your help!

Orientation Peer Support (OPS) is a welcoming support network for new international students. They provide new international students with friendly, practical and competent support with adjusting to their new study and living environment, particularly during International Registration and Enrolment. OPS leaders are volunteer students, both Australian and international, and are highly valued by the University.
OPS enjoy the satisfaction of helping students begin to cope with their new lifestyles and become independent prior to and during International Registration and Enrolment. You will receive a T-shirt, a Certificate of Participation that looks great in a CV, and begin a network of worldwide friends. You will also learn professional skills such working in teams, inter-cultural awareness and communication strategies. If you need a reference or a referee for a job application you can request one from the International Student Adviser.
