The Chancellor Mr David Morgan presided, assisted by the Deputy Vice- Chancellor (Academic) Professor John Rosenberg.
The MC was the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Graeme Dennehy.
The Faculty Representative was Mr Alan Taylor.

Presenters were:
Dean of the Faculty of Health, Medicine, Nursing and Behavioural Sciences, Professor John Catford.
Chair of the Academic Board, Professor Philomena Leung.

The Student Response was delivered by Mrs Julie van der Klift.

These Medals are awarded annually to candidates with a record of outstanding scholarship as well as service to the community and the University.
The awards are named in honour of Alfred Deakin after whom this University is named and were an initiative introduced by the University to commemorate the life of Alfred Deakin.

 

 

 


Occasional Address

The Occasional Address was delivered by the Hon Rob Knowles AO, Commissioner National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission.

Rob Knowles is currently a Commissioner for the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission and is Chair of the Mental Health Council of Australia. He also is Chair of the Campus Council for the new Royal Children’s Hospital and a Member of the Board of the Brotherhood of St Lawrence.  Mr Knowles is a consultant /adviser in the health sector and has a very high level of expertise in the field of public administration, having been a senior Minister in the Victorian Government for seven years including Minister for Health.

Deakin University acknowledges the traditional land owners of present campus sites.
