Summary
This case study provided policy direction for post-compulsory education. It highlighted the need for a mandated responsibility for the provision of on-going transition advice and re-engagement programs for young people who have left school. It confirmed the complexity of the work of networks formed in order to improve educational pathways.
Occasional Address

The occasional address was delivered by Mr Ken Boundy.
Ken Boundy is a company director and businessman with investments in primary production, information technology and tourism. He is Chairman of Regnan, Acelero and Tarkine Wilderness and is a non executive director of Horticulture Australia, Snapsil, Pretravel and Australian Fisheries. Mr Boundy is also a member of the Australian Advisory Boards for LEK Consulting, and the International College of Management, Sydney.
Mr Boundy is a former Managing Director of Tourism Australia from 2001–2005 and has extensive experience in marketing and research. In 2008, he was an invited participant to the Australian Government’s Australia 2020 Summit, and led the tourism sub stream within the focus group, ‘Future directions for rural industries and rural communities’.
Mr Boundy has over 25 years of leadership in public and private sector organisations. These roles have spanned the wine, food, building materials and tourism industries. He spent his early career as a research scientist and regional director in the Victorian Department of Agriculture.
Mr Boundy has a M.Agr Sc from Melbourne University, and an MBA from Deakin University.
