Mantoux testing
For Health Science students - NB: Please read Immunisation guidelines for Health science students
  • Mantoux testing is available at Deakin Medical centre located in building b, please note you require 2 appointments, first appointment is the mantoux test, and the second appointment is the reading, you must attend both.
  • Mantoux testing in trimester 2 will be offered to new commencing nursing students, please contact Student Life to book an appointment.
  • The cost is $5 payable on booking the appointments at the Student Life Reception desk.  Deakin Card welcome.

Geelong and Warrnambool
Travel vaccinations Travel Health advice is available from all Deakin Medical Centres on campus.  Travel vaccinations are  available all year, which are cost effective for students and staff seeking vaccination prior to departure.   We advise you book a travel consultation at least 8 weeks prior to departure to ensure you complete your vaccination course.
All Campuses
Flu Vaccinations Seasonal Flu Vaccinations are available at all Deakin Medical Centres.  You need to book at appointment with the campus nurse, bring your Medicare or OSHC card to the visit and the vaccine cost is $20.

  • Immunise Australia Program  (Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing) - comprehensive information about immunisation and related diseases for both the general public and health professionals. It includes immunisation guidelines, the Australian immunisation schedule and access to the 8th edition of the Australian immunisation handbook.
  • Immunisation - Department of Human Services (Victoria) - information about vaccine preventable diseases, including each disease, immunisation type and side effects (also in languages other than English), local government listing for immunisation sessions, as well as a range of useful immunisation related topics.
