The reduction of CO2 emissions is currently one of the biggest challenges for the automotive industry, with the largest automotive markets like China, Europe, Japan and the United States recently adopting very stringent CO2 emission regulations for 2015. Even further significant reductions are planned for 2020 and in discussion for 2025.
To meet these stringent limits, diverse technologies will need to be implemented in a range of areas - such as more efficient engines and transmissions, reduction of vehicle weight, intelligent control systems to manage electrical systems more efficiently, and alternative fuels.
This conference provides a networking opportunity for inventors, SMEs, and researchers to meet with established global organisations, car manufacturers and investors.
Inventors and researchers will be given the opportunity to present their technologies and compare them with the plans of the established automotive industry. Presentations will be followed by a Panel Discussion that will provide valuable feedback for the commercialisation process.
The "Pathway to Commercialisation" session gives insights from the investors' perspective, Commercialisation Australia will discuss examples of first success stories of the new grant program and the pros and cons of trade secrets versus patents will be discussed.
