Study support

Whether you want to improve your general study skills or you need help on a tricky assignment, there's plenty of support available. As a Deakin student, every aspect of your study will be supported by online resources, student mentors and, of course, our staff.

Students helping students

Student mentors are an excellent source of support. They can help you ease into studying at university and also introduce you to the clubs, societies and events that will help you get the most out of your time at Deakin.

Whether you're looking for advice on where to park or guidance with exam preparation, there are experienced Deakin students from all faculties available to help.

Improving your study skills

Our writing mentors can guide you as you plan, research and structure your assignments. They can also help you understand your marks and manage your time when you have competing deadlines.

Our maths mentors can help you understand maths concepts and processes. This support is available in person or online.

Faculty mentors can assist your social and academic transition into your faculty.

Finally, our Library rovers are available from orientation through to week six to assist students in making the most of what the Library has to offer.

Study sessions

You have to study, so why not study in a group led by a student who has successfully completed your unit? Our Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) are offered for tough units and are free for all students – you can even attend online with CloudPASS.

Improving your transition to university

Connect leaders help new students make a successful start at Deakin by assisting with events, activities and resources during orientation and throughout their first trimester.

Success coaches help all commencing Cloud Campus students to engage with services and support at Deakin to help them make a great start.

DUSA (Deakin University Student Society) Red Shirts are volunteers. Any student studying at Deakin can sign up to be a Red Shirt.
