Civil Engineering

Welcome to Civil Engineering. DUCE-Civil Engineering covers many areas and Labs including; concrete, structures, geotech, surveying, water, clean and waste. Creation, testing and simulation across these labs are available for students, industry and the wider Deakin University community.

Whether you want to learn the technology and methods yourself, or need some additional expertise on your next project, we are here to help.

Spaces and open times

The Lab is open from 8am – 5pm weekdays.

The laboratory consists of six laboratory spaces;

  • GeoTechnology Lab – KC1.101
  • Civil lab – KC1.101
  • Water analysis lab – KC1.106
  • Structures Lab – KC1.004
  • Concrete lab – LH1.023

The laboratories contain a number of different pieces of equipment as outlined below;

  • Load frames (100, 500, 1000, 5000kN)
  • Vibration testing equipment
  • Earthquake testing equipment
  • Water quality analysis equipment
  • Soil analysis equipment
