Recognition of prior learning (RPL) and licensed pathways
These pathway arrangements are generally one of two types:
- The local institution teaches its own curriculum, but Deakin pre-agrees (via an agreement) to provide credit (exemptions) for ‘like for like’ prior study when the student enrols at Deakin. This is called Recognition of prior learning (RPL).
Please note, depending on the institution, RPL may sometimes be referred to as CPL (Credit for prior learning).
- At times, institutions offer a Deakin licensed curriculum. Here, what is taught at the local partner mirrors that of Deakin’s curriculum, allowing for a much smoother transition to studies at Deakin University.
Contact the Deakin representative in your region or the respective partners listed below for detailed information on the various pathways, credits/exemptions offered, scholarships etc.
