Complete your placement on our Fellowship Program
The Fellowship Program lets you complete most of your clinical placements within one hospital or health network across your full degree. You'll be able to maximise your clinical learning experience, build networks with staff and boost your career prospects upon graduation. When not on placement, you'll learn in our advanced clinical nursing and midwifery simulation centres at our Melbourne Burwood, Geelong Waterfront, and Warrnambool campuses. Simulating real hospital and community environments, the centres boast all of the state-of-the-art equipment you'll encounter in your clinical placements in healthcare settings.
Our nursing and midwifery courses are accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council and approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, ensuring clear career outcomes upon graduation.
This means after completing a Deakin nursing course, you’re eligible to apply for registration as a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. On completion of the Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery, you’re also eligible to register as a midwife.

Our cross-cultural study tours run for two to four weeks and can be taken as an elective unit towards your degree. You'll connect with leading health organisations, while exploring countries such as India, Thailand and the Philippines.
Bachelor of Nursing students can opt to study at VIA University College in Viborg, Denmark for a full trimester. You'll get credit towards your degree and an unforgettable travel experience. Students from Denmark also visit and study at Deakin as part of this exchange program.
Sign up to the Faculty of Health’s Peer Mentor Program in your first year at Deakin to get support and guidance from senior students in your course. You’ll learn about the support services and facilities available, while gaining useful tips about studying at Deakin.
