Content

This unit provides an introduction to pharmacology at the cellular and molecular level. Topics include drug structure, mode of action, drug-receptor interactions, effects on cell signaling and function, drug absorption and metabolism, pharmacokinetics, toxicity, and gene-drug interactions. This unit will provide a foundation for subsequent studies in therapeutic development and advanced topics in medical biotechnology.
