Content
In this unit research and analytical skills are applied to the broader contexts of occupation and occupational therapy practice. Content includes sociopolitical perspectives, community development and empowerment, contemporary occupational issues in society, analysis of occupational therapy models and trends in terms of contemporary social and occupational issues, and strategies to address contemporary occupational issues to promote occupational health. Topics addressed in this unit include identifying trends in occupational therapy practice, reviewing and critiquing professional directions, strategies for critical reflection and analysis, identifying current issues related to occupation and health, developing individual and group responses to occupational issues, and promoting occupational health - design and management of change. Teaching methods will include group forums, resource sessions and lectures.Assessment
