Contact hours will vary based on experience.
All offerings will comprise of WIL experience related contact (approximately 80-160 hours) plus approximately 20-40 hours for individual reflection and assessment. Some experiences may require additional compulsory orientation events.
Experiences are largely program based, and students will be provided clearer guidelines based on program when applying. Generally, experiences will require 80-160 hours of contact as part of planned program and may require substantial time developing project outside of regular assessment.
Students must attend and participate in experience-based activities on the scheduled days, as outlined in their agreement/experience outline. All students will be required to have completed specific WIL pre-placement modules (approximately 2 hours) prior to commencing their first WIL experience.
Business & Law Work Integrated Learning (WIL) units are by application only and quotas may apply.

This unit provides students with the opportunity to undertake an authentic learning experience with an innovative and entrepreneurial focus. The experience undertaken will allow students to develop their critical thinking, communication and self-management skills as they gain exposure to real world experiences as an entrepreneur and innovator.
Students will critically reflect upon their experience, relevant graduate attributes and employability competencies through a progressive assessment process.
Identify, synthesise and evaluate information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, and reflection to develop an innovative and entrepreneurial business opportunity.

Assessment 1 – (Portfolio) Learning Portfolio designed around the WIL experience
A learning portfolio is comprised of a range of different assessment tasks. In this unit the portfolio consists of 4 assessment tasks, an initial skill evaluation and plan, a supervisor evaluation, program pitch/presentation, and a post-experience task (feature your project overview and evidence of personal & professional growth). Specific task details are available on the unit CloudDeakin site.
Any group-based tasks do not constitute more than 50% of the overall assessment for the unit.
The assessment due weeks provided may change. The Unit Chair will clarify the exact assessment requirements, including the due date, at the start of the teaching period.
Students must successfully complete the WIL pre-placement modules before they can attain access to the unit dropboxes.
