Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.
Online independent and collaborative learning activities (recordings provided) including a minimum of 6 scheduled online seminars.
The unit considers operation management as a transformative, cross-functional process. It covers both manufacturing and service contexts and is based upon learning from case studies, concepts and examples. Topics include: operations and supply chain strategy; quality management; product and process design; capacity planning; scheduling; and materials and inventory management. A holistic approach is taken, and the emphasis is on dealing with individual aspects of operations within an overall strategic framework for business effectiveness.
