This unit is only available to students enrolled in H315, H318, H343, H353, D333, D394, H355 OR S323 students completing the Nutrition and Exercise Science major (MJ-H000026) OR H300 and D391 students completing the Nutrition major (MJ-H000007).

5 x 1 hour on-campus seminars in Weeks 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 and
4 x 2 hour on-campus practical experience (laboratory) in Weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8

In-person attendance requirements:

Trimester 3:
2 x 4 hour on-campus intensive practical experience (laboratory) in Weeks 2 and 6 to be undertaken at either:

  • Burwood (Melbourne) for students with Course enrolment at Burwood (Melbourne) or
  • Waurn Ponds (Geelong) for all other students.
Typical study commitment:

Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

Content

In this unit, students will examine the function of human physiological systems and how these systems respond to and work together (integrate) in their responses to challenges that arise from a variety of conditions such as exercise, pathology and the environment. Students will learn to explain human physiology using physiological data and published scientific evidence.
