Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This is a capstone project unit that will provide students with the opportunity to develop Business Analytics practice skills. The unit aims to provide students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience by working on an authentic large scale business problem from concept to solution under the guidance and direction of a specialised team of industry practitioners in Business Analytics.
These are the Learning Outcomes (ULO) for this UnitAt the completion of this Unit, successful students can:
ULO1
Advanced understanding of the application of a broad range of analytics tools and techniques in the practice of business analytics.
ULO2
Employ oral and written communication skills as well as teamwork strategies and skills to develop complex business analytics solutions within a team and convey findings to both specialists and non-specialists.

Understanding of ethical implications of using data and analytics in business, government and the society, such as ability to employ ethical standards in data privacy.

Learning Portfolio
(Individual and Group, group work no more than 50%)

A learning portfolio is comprised of a range of different assessment tasks (a minimum of three) that are based upon the Capstone experience undertaken. These will approximately equate to 6,000 words of assessment. Portfolios will include tasks that allow students to collect and evidence their learning which may include written reports and/or presentations. Specific tasks are outlined on Cloud Deakin. In an experience requiring team-based assessments, the team-based tasks will not constitute more than 50% of the overall assessment for the unit
