Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.
1 x 1 hour class per week, 1 x 1 hour seminar per week, 1 x 2 hour laboratory per week.
Students are required to attend and participate in laboratory activities for this unit at scheduled sessions during the trimester.
1 x 1 hour of class per week (recordings provided), 1 x 1 hour online seminar per week. Students are required to attend and participate in laboratory activities at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus at scheduled sessions during the trimester intensive week (typically 1 day in week 7 to complete assessment tasks 1 and 2).
SEE213 covers in detail the commonly featuring distributed energy resources such as Solar PV systems, Battery energy storage systems, Wind energy systems, Diesel energy systems, etc. in the modern power grid. Completion of this unit will allow the students to gain a thorough understanding on the characteristics, sizing and operating principles, as well as the grid integration of modern distributed energy resources.
