Students will on average spend 150-hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This unit uses a work-integrated learning approach to develop strategic skills for the writing and allied creative arts sectors. The strategic skills are:
The emphasis is on the combination of presenting a coherent approach to students’ own creative practice, and demonstrating key industry skills related to real-world projects selected from examples such as small grant, residency or fellowship applications, or creative project/installation proposals.
Research the creative arts industries sector in relation to contemporary cultural and social issues nationally and globally
GLO8: Global citizenship
Conceive, plan and develop creative arts group projects targeted to opportunities for production and/or presentation
GLO5: Problem solving
Explain key aspects of different art cultures and issues, and explain the different roles of artists, arts administrators and different audiences in planning and creating arts and cultural events
GLO4: Critical thinking
Demonstrate advocacy, promotion, interpretation and critical discussion skills relevant to the creative arts industry sector and individual arts practice
Demonstrate professional presentation and organisational skills related to freelancing in the creative arts sector
GLO2: Communication
Identify practices that are informed by the cultural, legal, ethical and economic contexts of creative arts practice
