Deakin Business School among world's best with new EQUIS accreditation

Deakin Business School has been awarded EQUIS accreditation through the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).
This global best-practice recognition places Deakin Business School in the top 1 per cent of business schools worldwide, and the 10th with EQUIS accreditation in Australia.
Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law Alfred Deakin Professor Mike Ewing said EQUIS accreditation reflected the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication by faculty, staff, students, alumni and a wide array of stakeholders.
"This accreditation elevates Deakin Business School to international best practice," Professor Ewing said.
"It is a great complement to the AACSB International accreditation DBS received in 2016, with Deakin now one of just three universities in Victoria - and 150 in the world - to hold both accreditations."
EQUIS accreditation focusses on the international standing of business schools, in particular how education, research and external engagement is enhanced through internationalisation; corporate connections; and ethics, social responsibility and sustainability.
"The road to EQUIS accreditation has seen Deakin Business School work towards a stronger presence as a global business school with true international relevance and impact, and a stronger global mindset underpinning all our activities," Professor Ewing said.
"We're building even better global industry relationships, particularly leveraging off Deakin's international offices in Copenhagen and Delhi, and we continue to offer students many diverse and unique opportunities to take part in study tours and internships around the world."
Professor Ewing said EQUIS accreditation was a global assurance of quality for all of Deakin Business School’s stakeholders.
"EQUIS accreditation makes our graduates more employable, and I would also encourage our alumni to update their CVs to reflect this recognition. An international employer who may not have heard of Deakin will likely have heard of EQUIS," he said.
"This recognition provides global credibility and reflects the quality of education and learning experiences of our graduates."
