Senior Student Advisers (case management)

The Senior Student Advisers (SSAs) provide high quality case management services to Deakin University students. SSAs offer both one-off and ongoing support to students with multiple support needs. SSAs also provide secondary consultation to staff.

What Senior Student Advisers do

SSAs have extensive knowledge of current trends and issues affecting University students and are highly skilled at developing advanced case plans to meet their needs.

SSAs refer to both internal and external support services depending on the student’s needs.

SSAs work from a framework that empowers and strengthens student capacity to address their own unique needs.

What to expect from a Senior Student Adviser?

Senior Student Advisers can help students address their own unique needs by providing support, guidance, and referrals to both internal and external services depending on the student’s needs.

Their focus is on assisting students to access support to better manage the challenges they're experiencing.

Senior Student Advisers work across all campuses, including Cloud, and offer face-to-face appointments, as well as telephone and email contact.

How to contact Senior Student Advisers

As there is no drop-in service, students can only be referred to a Senior Student Adviser (SSA) by a Deakin staff member. Contact us at dslssa@deakin.edu.au for a response within two working days.
