Deakin adheres to principles in the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, which guide research integrity across Australia.

Research complaints and concerns for current researchers

When you research with us, if you have a concern about research integrity, you can confidentially speak to a research integrity adviser. They give advice on research integrity matters and the research breach processes.

Our values apply to a wide range of areas within any research program, including the management and sharing of data, authorship, peer review, conflicts of interest, human and animal ethics, publication and dissemination of findings, and the handling of misconduct and training.

Responsible conduct in research involves different needs and guidelines, depending on the kind of research that is being undertaken, including:

Deakin takes allegations of ‘research code breach’ and ‘serious research code breach’ very seriously. Allegations are managed in line with Deakin University research integrity breaches procedure, in accordance with the Australian code for the responsible conduct of research.
