Library

The library is a key partner in the success of everyone at Deakin. Students, academics and professional staff rely on the library to provide guidance on information resources, research, copyright, information management, digital literacy and much more.

Our focus

Forging a reputation as one of the leading academic libraries in Australia, we leverage technology and digital resources to design an outstanding learning experience for our users. We curate trusted information, provide expert guidance and research advice, and create a dynamic environment for study and collaboration.

Our services

Specialist librarians

Every school and faculty has designated Liaison Librarians located at each campus, ready to assist groups and individuals. We can help develop your skills and techniques for searching, accessing, using and sharing information.

Expert guidance

No matter which campus you're on, you can find expert guidance and advice at the library service desk or through our Library Chat service. Our live Library Chat service is available 24/7 during Trimesters 1 and 2, and 24 hours a day during the week in Trimester 3.

Extended opening hours

The library provides a safe, accessible place for students and staff to work any time of the day or night. Waterfront Library is open at all hours to Deakin students and staff, while level two at Burwood Library and the learning space at Waurn Ponds Library are also open 24 hours a day.

Trusted information sources

The expert staff within Deakin Library curate scholarly information from trusted sources and make this available for users through our exceptional collection, leading online databases, and learning and teaching resources.

Best practice for the University

The library manages copyright enquiries and concerns for the University, as well as the Information and Records Services division, which encompasses Deakin Archives.
