Through practice-based learning in a studio setting, this unit looks at the way the creative arts are transforming beyond established idioms, styles and forms in the 21st century. It introduces key ideas, issues and approaches for building a professional practice in this dynamic field. It prepares you for making and/or performing work and articulating the issues, ideas, processes, techniques and materials involved to others.

The unit investigates the use of self-reflexive and critical writing, documentation and feedback to strengthen creative practice and provide evidence of decision-making processes and creative outcomes. Through a series of collaborative practice-based projects, students will develop a creative dialogue within a community of practice and an agility to solve creative problems in the cross-disciplinary environments, processes and dynamics of 21st century creative work.
