Content

The unit will provide an overview of theories of physical and motor development in infancy and early childhood pertinent to sound health and physical education pedagogical practice. The unit is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to critically examine research, theory, practice and curriculum and apply these to health and physical education programs that enhance the health, wellbeing and physical activity outcomes of children in the early years.

Students will be able to build competence and confidence to effectively teach health and physical education and evaluate health and movement education approaches relevant to early childhood.
