The unit focuses on the big ideas of the nature of the Universe, Earth and its place in the Universe, and how we have come to understand the chemical and physical processes shaping the global environment. Multimodal representations are used to investigate and communicate the way the Earth-Moon-Sun system impacts on our lives, and indigenous perspectives are introduced as an example of the multiple ways of knowing through which we interpret and understand phenomena.
