Study commitment

All offerings will comprise of at least 150 hours clinical placement contact plus approximately 20-40 hours for individual reflection and work-placed based assessment. Some experiences may require additional compulsory orientation events.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

Scheduled learning activities - online

Professional experience (clinical placements) can be undertaken in a full-time block or over the course of the trimester. Specific contact hours will be negotiated between the student and their chosen organisation.

In-person attendance requirements

A total of 300 hrs of clinical placement is required for Australasian College of Paramedic Practitioner Fellowship to permit practice as a Paramedic Practitioner. Completing HMP708 and HMP709 will meet this requirement.

All clinical placements are arranged by and are the responsibility of the student.

Content

The Australasian College of Paramedic Practitioners requires a total of 300 hrs clinical placement and completion of a clinical portfolio prior to applying for fellowship to practice. Completion of this unit and HMP709 Advanced Clinical Practicum 2 will meet this requirement.

All clinical placements, including appropriate supervision, are the responsibility of the student to organise.
