Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit. The unit will be taught through a combination of online resources, including written materials, pre-recorded video content, activities and problem-based exercises, and 2 face-to-face or online contact hours per week (1x2 hour seminar).

Content

This unit introduces students to vitiating factors that can result in avoidance of a contract, including: misrepresentation; misleading or deceptive conduct; mistake; duress; illegality; undue influence; unfair terms; and unconscionable conduct. This unit also covers performance of a contract, termination of a contract by agreement, for breach and by frustration, as well as remedies available at common law and in equity for breach of contract.
