Deakin University an Employer of Choice

Deakin University has recently been recognised again as an Employer of Choice for Women by the Federal Government's Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA). This citation is only awarded to organisations that have demonstrated that they have in place policies and practices that support women across the organisation and that these have had a positive outcome for both women and the organisation.

Criteria for the award include provision of maternity leave requirements, provision of part-time employment for female managers, meeting or exceeding the industry average for the percentage of female managers and pay equity performance better than the industry average. The award acknowledges Deakin University's achievements in improving employment conditions for women.
