Deakin University health researchers would like to hear from women in Braybrook, Campbellfield, Herne Hill (Geelong), East Bairnsdale, Springvale South and Beaufort about their exercise habits.

Miranda Stewart, a researcher with Deakin's Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research, is conducting the Women's Physical Activity Study (PhActs) to better understand the issues women face when it comes to being physically active.

"Research shows that physical activity habits differ for women according to the area in which they live, with women living in certain areas tending to face similar barriers and motivators because of their shared environments," Ms Stewart explained.

"We would like to speak with women to better understand what they feel would help them to be more active."

The researchers would like to hear from local women aged 18 to 45 years who exercise less than 30 minutes a day, five days of the week. Anyone interested in taking part in the study or wanting more information can contact Miranda Stewart on 9244 6278, email phacts-study@deakin.edu.au or visit the web site.
