SEEK Learning partners with Deakin University to offer greater access to quality higher education
Media releaseA new partnership between SEEK Learning and Deakin University will increase the range of undergraduate programs offered across Australia through the SEEK Learning website.
SEEK Learning, part of Australia's number 1 jobsite, will facilitate applications for enrolment into five of Deakin's core cloud-based undergraduate degree programs.
Utilising digital technology, cloud-based learning is increasingly popular as it accommodates lifestyles that were a barrier to traditional study in the past.
Deakin University was founded on a commitment to off-campus teaching in the 1970s and in 2013 it continues to be a flagship of this mode of study by offering students the opportunity to study whenever and wherever it suits them.
Recently rated the top university in Victoria for graduate satisfaction, Deakin will offer enrolment into business, engineering, arts, international studies and technology undergraduate programs via SEEK Learning with plans to further develop the partnership.
"Deakin is delighted to enter into this new partnership with SEEK Learning. Deakin is a leader in innovative education and this partnership will enable students to learn where they live regardless of their geographic location," Deakin's Vice Chancellor Professor Jane den Hollander said.
"This partnership will deliver cloud-based education to a broader range of students so that they have the skills to compete in a global marketplace with continually-evolving technology."
As one of the leaders in developing the distance and online education market over the past 10 years, SEEK Learning works to provide access to high-quality, recognised education in a flexible manner, and is particularly focused on providing access to those who can't attend traditional in-class educational programs.
"At SEEK Learning our goal is to connect Australians with the best education options available, regardless of geographical or lifestyle factors. Whether you're living in regional Australia or have kids at home and can't attend classes, we believe you should have the same access to education as everyone else," SEEK Learning General Manager Tony Barrett said.
"The addition of high calibre courses and the innovative learning environment that Deakin provides will ensure we continue to offer the best education choices for our students."
