Deakin University welcomes innovation investment in Geelong

Deakin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Jane den Hollander today welcomed the Commonwealth Government's announcement of a modern centre of innovation in Geelong.

"This is a clear vote of confidence in Geelong, innovation, jobs and education," Professor den Hollander said.

"This significant investment will help to create new jobs and accelerate the transformation to advanced manufacturing here in Geelong and across Australia.

"Our University is already building a global reputation for research and industry partnerships in carbon fibre, design and high value-added manufacturing.

"We look forward to working with the Commonwealth Government on its plan to support the skills for the future in Geelong."
