In order to support you accessing affordable living and having the opportunity to thrive in our on campus community, we have significantly reduced our fees at the Melbourne Burwood Campus. These price reductions are effective immediately and places Deakin as a more cost-effective and convenient accommodation option.
Accommodation options
Metropolitan Melbourne and regional students are eligible to live on campus in Burwood. Those who live on campus are shown to make better connections with their peers and with the University. Plus, they're more likely to achieve great results with their study.
We offer a range of single and mixed-gender accommodation options. Our residential student community is truly multicultural, with residents from around Australia and the world.

Whichever option you choose, you’ll have your own furnished, private bedroom and free internet access. Accessible housing and preferences for no-noise or single-gender units are available. Residents can also request adjustments if required. We are currently accepting bookings for the following periods:
- Trimester 2 2021 (21 June 2021 – 25 October)
- Trimester 3 2021 (25 October 2021 – 21 February 2022)
- Important: only Studio and Five or six bedroom shared Apartment (a/c) room types are available for Trimester 3

Two-bedroom apartment
Two-bedroom studios are a great option if you'd prefer not to share with multiple other students, but would like a housemate of the same gender. You'll have your own private bedroom and share a bathroom and kitchen/dining area.

Which is the right room for me?
This is purely a personal decision. As a general rule, shared accommodation options are more social. You use the same kitchen, lounge and dining area as the other students in your unit, which ensures you'll interact with your peers.
Self-contained apartments allow you to cook in your own kitchenette and watch TV in seclusion. But there are also communal kitchens and breakout areas in the main buildings so you can study and relax with your fellow residents.
Shared spaces, shared lifestyle
Living on campus in Burwood means you’ll have lots of places to study, enjoy a break, or catch up with friends. Some of the shared spaces include:
