Value and duration

  • 20% of your total tuition fees (stated on your offer letter).
  • This scholarship is available for the normal duration of your course.
  • Additional fees may apply. The scholarship will not cover study beyond the standard course duration, including extra or repeated units.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible you must:

  • be a citizen of Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka or Vietnam
  • be a new international student starting your course at Deakin by Trimester 3, 2026
  • be applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree (including honours) from the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE)
  • meet the entry requirements for your course, including English language requirements
  • not be commencing a course via the FutureLearn platform
  • meet the academic requirements listed below for undergraduate and postgraduate study.

To be eligible for the scholarship while undertaking postgraduate study, you must:

  • have completed a three-year bachelor degree (or equivalent) from an approved institution
  • have achieved the equivalent of 65% WAM in your undergraduate degree
  • meet all entry requirements for your specific course.

To be  eligible for the scholarship while undertaking undergraduate study, you must:

Conditions of eligibility

Information systems and business analytics courses, as well as double degrees, are not eligible for the Deakin STEM Scholarship. The only exception is the Bachelor of Design (Architecture)/Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) double degree, which remains eligible.

Once awarded the Deakin STEM Scholarship, you must maintain a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 65% each academic year if you are continuing or readmitting. You must also continue to meet all eligibility requirements throughout your studies at Deakin.

How to apply

If you're eligible, you’ll automatically be considered for this scholarship. No separate application is required. You’ll be notified of the outcome once your course application has been assessed. For more information email the Deakin International Scholarships office.
