The connections Deakin has across the globe is remarkable. I've been to jungles in Borneo and Viking museums in Denmark all because of Deakin.

'I was always passionate about 'saving the planet', and Deakin had an excellent environment course that got my interest. What sold me on Deakin was the incredible array of international trips you could do, you really could go anywhere with the Environmental Science course.

Coming from a small country town it was hard to picture myself travelling so extensively, but Deakin helped make me feel like a citizen of the world. In my third year, I did a placement as a Guest Researcher at the University of Copenhagen. While I was in Denmark I was helping a research team tackle deforestation in Cambodia; getting to apply all the skills and knowledge Deakin had equipped me with was indescribably rewarding.

The sense of ambition and drive you feel being at Deakin. They want to be the best. They want students to have the best experience and best education in Australia and in the world. Although Deakin is a young university, the accomplishments they've achieved are mind-boggling.'
