Tell us about you and significant people, experiences and circumstances that have shaped your life and learning. These could be positive or negative in nature. Reflect on how these have influenced your character, sense of self, motivations, attitudes and behaviours towards learning. Examine what you have learned about yourself and how you intend to apply this self-learning to your studies at Deakin University. Your reference could include, but is not limited to:

The style of the Deakin statement is up to you and how you can best tell your story.
The structure should contain a purposeful introduction to set the scene.
The body of the statement should be organised in paragraphs, with each paragraph focused on the explanation of one idea. There should be a logical flow of ideas, with links between ideas in each paragraph to support the reader's experience.
The concluding paragraph should draw your story together and offer your future life and learning goals.
