Students will on average spend 150 hours over the trimester undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

Scheduled learning activities - campus

1 x 1.5-hour practical and 1 x 3-hour seminar per week

A Technical rehearsal will occur in scheduled lecture time in week 10

The public performance outcome will be in week 11

Content

This unit provides an introduction to the methods and processes involved in creating a new dance or theatre work for performance alongside the development of performance skills. The unit will provide students with an introduction to the processes by which new dance or theatre work is made and realised as a public performance; the development of skills in performance; the ability to engage with new tools and approaches in devising and rehearsing; and an introduction to the technical requirements of mounting a performance.
