Students from Arabic, Chinese, Indonesian and Spanish who have successfully completed the relevant third year prerequisite units
Students must complete one unit from AIF342, ALS350, AIB352, AIC382 or approval of unit chair.
Students will on average spend 150-hours over the trimester undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.
This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

1 x 1 hour lecture per week, 1 x 1 hour seminar per week (a one hour ‘break out’ online seminar group for each language cohort, with an academic from Arabic, Chinese, Indonesian, Spanish)
This unit will advance students’ knowledge of their chosen target language by engaging with authentic, contemporary texts which may include films, literature, speeches, songs and other media as cultural products. Students will engage in analysis of cultural perspectives and identity that may include social, political, religious, economic, historical, regional and global issues important to the respective society and the intended audience of the texts.
