Content

This unit introduces students to the foundations of Professional and Creative Writing through a combination of conceptual and practical approaches to creativity, craft, form, theory and publication. Writers must be both professional and creative to thrive in a knowledge economy in which the figure of the Specialist Writer has largely been replaced with that of the Portfolio Writer. Thus, this unit will provide students with the skills they need to operate professionally and creatively across a range of writing forms, tasks and platforms. The unit will mainly focus on the production, development and editing of professional and creative writing tasks and a prose project.
